What I find interesting is the effect that government mandates are having. The news is filled with press conferences featuring Texas Gov., Rick Perry, and DHS Secretary, Michael Chertoff, offering platitudes of government assistance (otherwise known as tax-payer funded bailouts for everyone not willing to buy insurance) once the storm has passed.
