A tiny frog species thought by many experts to be extinct has been rediscovered alive and well in a remote area of Australia's tropical north, researchers said Thursday. That's great news for all the frog fans in the worlds!

Some scientists worry that the Large Hadron Collider will create a black hole that destroys the entire world. They turned the thing on yesterday anyway and good news: we still exist. "It will be weeks or months before two particles ever crash together in the giant tube," reports Reuters. Plenty of time for worrying!

When you are at college it becomes a terrible trend when you are using forks and knives that are older than you are and all of your cooking utensils melt into your food. It is really not worth it! A great gift idea that I found is a utensil kit that has everything anyone would ever need. Great for school or a new home!

What I find interesting is the effect that government mandates are having. The news is filled with press conferences featuring Texas Gov., Rick Perry, and DHS Secretary, Michael Chertoff, offering platitudes of government assistance (otherwise known as tax-payer funded bailouts for everyone not willing to buy insurance) once the storm has passed.
